Title: SNOWFLAKE Architect-DBA (100% Remote)

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 6+ Months

Job Description:

  • Database Platforms Services - Analytics team is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable individual who is a self-starter and is passionate about Engineering Database solutions.
  • This position will be focused on building automation pipelines around database platforms (on-prem and cloud) which will require programming skills (Shell scripting/Python
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design and Architect database solution on Snowflake data cloud platform, AWS, Azure and Databricks.
  • Manage and optimize the performance, security, and reliability of databases in the Snowflake Data Cloud platform.
  • Planning and managing disaster recovery strategies and data retention policies.
  • Deploying, right-sizing, and managing Snowflake virtual warehouses.
  • Implement and manage security measures like data encryption, access controls, and network policies.
  • Automate standard Database processes using Unix Shell scripting/Python.
  • Develop new automation scripts in python and write unit cases.
  • Enhance/troubleshoot existing Unix shell scripts.
Skills Required:
  • Expert in programming and has automation mind set.

  • Expert with Snowflake, AWS and Azure Cloud platforms.

  • 7+ years of experience as a Snowflake Architect/DBA.

  • Experience as an SAP IQ DBA.

  • Hands-on expertise with Snowflake utilities such as SnowSQL, SnowPipe, SnowPark, Python, Tasks, Streams, Time travel, Optimizer, Metadata Manager, data sharing, and stored procedures.

  • Snowflake SQL Writing SQL queries against Snowflake Developing scripts Java, Python, Scala, etc. to do Extract, Load, and Transform data.

  • In-depth understanding of Data Warehouse/ODS, ETL concept and modeling structure principles

  • Experience with Database design and architecture patterns.

  • Experience in Data warehousing, OLAP systems, Dimensions, Facts, and Data modeling.

  • Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements.

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience designing and implementing production grade data warehousing solutions on large scale data technologies such as Snowflake, DB2, and SAP IQ.
