Job Description Job Description Primary Function: Perform necessary operations to build a quality ceramic shell encasing the wax sprue assembly. Must exhibit average proficiency in the use of personal computers Tools and Equipment: Slurry tanks, precoat tanks, poultry netting, autoclave unit, putty knives, carts, ABB Robots, fork truck, scales, burnout furnaces, hand drills, thermometers, electronic media, etc. Material: Petroleum based waxes, isopropanol alcohol, ammonia, zircon sand, silica sand, ludox, synasol, ethyl silicate, mullite powder, PC205, etc. Direction of Others: None Working Procedure: Under the guidance and supervision of the Department Supervisor, or the Process Control Operator, or the Shell Builder A, the Shell Builder B THE FOLLOWING ARE THE USUAL MAJOR JOB DUTIES BUT THIS JOB DESCRIPTION DOES NOT PRECLUDE THE PERFORMANCE OF OTHER DUTIES BY THE INCUMBENT. 1 Shall follow all of the safety requirements as posted on the job safety card. 2 Shall receive daily work assignments from the Department Supervisor or the Process Control Operator. 3 Shall consistently follow the shell department work instructions for the particular function assigned, including, but not limited to the precoat, shell build, autoclave, patch and dip, or the burnout operation. 4 Shall visually inspect the shells throughout the shell process for potential process deficiencies or potential sources of scrapped sprues, notifying the department supervisor or Process Control Operator. 5 Shall monitor all machinery for potential maintenance, notifying the Department Supervisor or Process Control Operator of same. 6 Shall maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition. 7 Shall maintain all labor vouchers, records, and files, in addition to a variety of logs where accuracy is paramount, and enter all required information into the Company software in a timely manner. 8 Shall maintain the work area in a clean and orderly condition. 9 Shall attend and successfully complete hazardous material / waste handling classes. 10 Shall attend and successfully complete training in proper lifting techniques. 11 Shall attend and successfully complete lock out / tag out training classes. 12 Shall perform other duties as assigned. Work Environment: Must be able to work in an atmospherically controlled room where ammonia and other fumes are present. Special Skills Required: Must have good working knowledge of personal computers and related software. Must have sufficient strength to perform the physical demands of the job. No minimum formal educational achievement required. Must exhibit average proficiency in the use of personal computers and related software.
