Salesforce Development Lead- 100% Remote

Title: Salesforce Development Lead
Location: 100 % Remote
Target Start Date: asap
Type: Direct Hire

Who We Are:

We see the world through Salesforce glasses. We love Salesforce, it’s our craft and we want to make a Salesforce evangelist out of everyone. We’re the kind of people, who in our spare time, learn about and experiment with Salesforce architecture, create and run local Salesforce user groups and geek out on every page of the release notes 3 times a year.

Our practice was created by Salesforce thought leaders specifically for SMB to Mid-Market sized companies. As a certified Salesforce Partner we are a true end-to-end partner for businesses looking to maximize their Salesforce investment through custom integrations, optimization and we also offer Advisory and Managed Services.

Who You Are:
SaltClick is looking for a Salesforce Development Lead who brings leadership, technical expertise, and a passion for building high-performing teams to our projects and clients. The Development Lead’s primary responsibility is to oversee our Salesforce development practice — guiding developers, ensuring technical excellence, and delivering scalable solutions that power critical business processes. Members of our team enjoy the rewards of building mission-critical systems that are powerful yet simple, while growing in a supportive and collaborative environment.

You must be comfortable in dynamic, fast-changing situations, balancing hands-on technical problem solving with people management. We are looking for someone who can mentor and manage developers, establish best practices, and partner with Delivery leadership to ensure solutions are designed and built for long-term success.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Oversee solution design, code quality, and adherence to development best practices

  • Guide the team in building applications and integrations using Salesforce Apex, Lightning Web Components, SOQL, and APIs (REST/SOAP)

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and consultants to ensure scalable, secure, and performant solutions

  • Support developers in troubleshooting, resolving defects, and optimizing performance

  • Facilitate sprint planning, code reviews, and daily stand-ups to encourage successful team delivery of results

  • Enable and guide teams in adopting DevOps and release management practices across environments to ensure smooth, reliable, and compliant deployments

  • Coach developers on implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, version control, and automated testing frameworks to strengthen delivery quality and consistency

  • Establish and maintain documentation, standards, and reusable assets for the development team

  • Keep the team current on Salesforce platform updates and innovations, providing recommendations for process and system improvements

  • Act as an escalation point for technical challenges while empowering team members to problem solve and innovate

Experience You’ll Need:

  • 5+ years Salesforce development experience across multiple projects and industries

  • 2+ years in a leadership or people management role (team lead, development manager, or equivalent)

  • Proven expertise with Apex, Lightning Web Components, Visualforce, SOQL, and Salesforce APIs

  • Strong background in integration patterns and web services (SOAP/REST, JSON, XML)

  • Experience managing multiple priorities and delivering results in an Agile environment

  • Experience leading DevOps and release management processes, including version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation tools (Gearset, Copado, or equivalent)

  • Knowledge of Salesforce environment management, change sets, and deployment governance

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach, and inspire developers at different levels of experience

  • Salesforce Platform Developer I required; Platform Developer II or Architect certifications a plus

Common Interview Questions And Answers

1. HOW DO YOU PLAN YOUR DAY?

This is what this question poses: When do you focus and start working seriously? What are the hours you work optimally? Are you a night owl? A morning bird? Remote teams can be made up of people working on different shifts and around the world, so you won't necessarily be stuck in the 9-5 schedule if it's not for you...

2. HOW DO YOU USE THE DIFFERENT COMMUNICATION TOOLS IN DIFFERENT SITUATIONS?

When you're working on a remote team, there's no way to chat in the hallway between meetings or catch up on the latest project during an office carpool. Therefore, virtual communication will be absolutely essential to get your work done...

3. WHAT IS "WORKING REMOTE" REALLY FOR YOU?

Many people want to work remotely because of the flexibility it allows. You can work anywhere and at any time of the day...

4. WHAT DO YOU NEED IN YOUR PHYSICAL WORKSPACE TO SUCCEED IN YOUR WORK?

With this question, companies are looking to see what equipment they may need to provide you with and to verify how aware you are of what remote working could mean for you physically and logistically...

5. HOW DO YOU PROCESS INFORMATION?

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

8. HOW TO PRIORITIZE WORK?

The day I watched Marie Forleo's film separating the important from the urgent, my life changed. Not all remote jobs start fast, but most of them are...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?

This is a great question because it shows your comfort level with technology, which is very important for a remote worker because you will be working with technology over time...
