Hospitality Worker (Toast POS User, English)

The work

You will help improve AI systems’ understanding of restaurant technology and point-of-sale operations. The work uses practical Toast POS experience to explain how restaurants configure systems, manage orders, process payments, and handle different service models.

You will create clear documentation, review system behavior, and provide written and verbal feedback for technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Analyze Toast POS workflows for order entry, payment processing, reporting, and restaurant operations.
  • Create realistic scenarios, process documentation, and step-by-step guides based on restaurant procedures.
  • Review system functionality and explain usability, implementation, and troubleshooting issues.
  • Describe Toast POS configuration and optimization practices for quick-service, casual, and fine-dining restaurants.
  • Annotate and evaluate transaction data, menus, and order flows for AI training.
  • Collaborate on prompts, tasks, and datasets related to point-of-sale operations.

What it pays and takes

This is a part-time contractor role for people with current, hands-on hospitality experience. The work requires daily use of Toast POS and a strong understanding of restaurant operations.

  • Pay: $28 to $92 per hour.
  • Work type: Part-time contract work.
  • Location: Open to candidates across the Americas, Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, subject to the countries listed for this role.
  • Language: Professional fluency in English.
  • Required: Current hospitality employment with daily hands-on use of Toast POS.
  • Required: Strong knowledge of restaurant order, payment, and point-of-sale workflows.
  • Required: Clear written and verbal communication, including process documentation for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Required: Understanding of how POS needs differ across quick-service, casual, and fine-dining restaurants.
  • Helpful: Experience training, mentoring, or supporting people who are adopting restaurant technology.

How it works

You apply here in about two minutes and finish on the hiring platform. The next step is a short AI interview (technical roles include a coding challenge). Passing it is how you qualify for paid tasks, so take it soon after you are invited.

About AI training work

AI training is the human work behind artificial intelligence. People review information, write examples, and explain real-world decisions so AI systems can learn how people use tools and complete tasks. Subject-matter experience matters because accurate feedback helps models understand specialized work such as restaurant operations.
