Video Quality Evaluator – Part-Time, Long-Term (US/Canada preferred, Europe considered)

We're looking for detail-oriented evaluators to review videos on an ongoing, part-time basis. This is a long-term collaboration: we're building a stable group of evaluators who grow with the project.

LOCATION

- North America (US/Canada) is strongly preferred. Europe will also be considered.

- Applicants from other regions will not be considered, so please don't apply if you are based elsewhere.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

- Watch and compare videos (usually two versions side by side)

- Decide which looks better in quality and realism

- Spot visual issues: artifacts, flickering, distorted faces or hands, unnatural motion, blur, inconsistent details

- Write short, clear, specific feedback explaining your choices

- Finish each task before its deadline

HOW WE WORK

- Hourly contract starting at $10/hr. Rates increase for strong performers, and top evaluators get bonuses and priority access to new projects.

- Tasks are released regularly, usually every week. Each task is optional: you choose which ones to join.

- We tell you how many hours to log for each task.

- When a task is released, please reply within 24 hours to say whether you'll join. Work submitted after a deadline can't be accepted.

- We'd like you to have some time available most weeks.

REQUIREMENTS

- Based in North America (preferred) or Europe

- Strong attention to detail and patience; you don't rush

- Clear written English

- A laptop or desktop with a reliable internet connection

- Able to check messages daily

- Experience in any of these is a plus: video QA, video editing, content moderation, data annotation or evaluation, VFX/animation, QA testing

HIRING PROCESS

1. Short intro chat on Upwork

2. A short online evaluation test (about 15 minutes)

3. Offer. Our work involves confidential material, so you'll need to sign a confidentiality agreement before starting.

To show us you read this post, start your proposal with your country and time zone, e.g. "United States – EST".

Several years ago, I was working in a team to plan a big event. My supervisor made us all work as a team before the big day. One of our activities has been to find out how each of us processes information...

6. HOW DO YOU MANAGE THE CALENDAR AND THE PROGRAM? WHICH APPLICATIONS / SYSTEM DO YOU USE?

Or you may receive even more specific questions, such as: What's on your calendar? Do you plan blocks of time to do certain types of work? Do you have an open calendar that everyone can see?...

7. HOW DO YOU ORGANIZE FILES, LINKS, AND TABS ON YOUR COMPUTER?

Just like your schedule, how you track files and other information is very important. After all, everything is digital!...

9. HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR A MEETING AND PREPARE A MEETING? WHAT DO YOU SEE HAPPENING DURING THE MEETING?

Just as communication is essential when working remotely, so is organization. Because you won't have those opportunities in the elevator or a casual conversation in the lunchroom, you should take advantage of the little time you have in a video or phone conference...

10. HOW DO YOU USE TECHNOLOGY ON A DAILY BASIS, IN YOUR WORK AND FOR YOUR PLEASURE?
