Travelling Scribe/Medical Assistant

Medical Assistant – Traveling GI Procedure Team

Looking for a Medical Assistant role that’s anything but routine?

We’re looking for a sharp, organized, adaptable Medical Assistant to serve as the provider’s right hand while traveling to outreach locations throughout Wyoming.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced MA who enjoys working closely with a provider, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in staying one step ahead. You’ll travel throughout Wyoming year-round, supporting the provider during procedures and handling the critical documentation and charting that keeps the day running smoothly.

This position is not a traditional clinic MA role. There is very little front-desk or patient-greeting work. Instead, you’ll be deeply involved in the clinical workflow, procedure support, documentation, and provider communication.

Full-Time, In-person, Non-exempt

Perks

  • Stay clocked in while traveling
  • Overtime opportunities
  • PTO
  • Benefits
  • Year-round travel throughout Wyoming
  • Hands-on GI and procedure experience
  • Close one-on-one experience with a GI provider
  • Opportunity to develop specialized GI knowledge
  • A role with variety—you won't be sitting in the same clinic every day

The Person We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who can keep up, stay organized, think ahead, and handle the pressure of being the provider’s go-to person.

If you’re an experienced Medical Assistant who loves being in the middle of the action, takes pride in excellent documentation, enjoys travel, and wants to develop strong GI experience, this could be a great fit.

What You’ll Do

Be the Provider’s Right Hand

  • Work directly alongside the provider during procedures.
  • Anticipate the provider’s needs and help keep procedures moving efficiently.
  • Document procedures and patient information accurately and in real time.
  • Take detailed notes and complete all provider charting and documentation in the EMR.
  • Keep charts organized, complete, and ready for the provider.
  • Communicate important patient information and changes to the provider promptly.
  • Monitor patients during and around procedures and immediately report any concerns or changes in condition.

Own the Documentation

A major part of this role is documentation and chart management. You’ll manage extensive paperwork and ensure the provider’s charts are accurate, complete, and up to date.

You’ll also:

  • Complete extensive chart work and provider documentation.
  • Handle pathology letters and follow-up documentation.
  • Assist with patient phone calls and questions regarding procedure preparation and follow-up.
  • Facilitate patient referrals.
  • Enter pertinent information into the EMR.
  • Complete administrative and clerical tasks associated with the provider’s practice.

Travel Throughout Wyoming

This position will travel with the provider to outreach locations throughout the state of Wyoming, year-round.

Expect:

  • Early mornings.
  • Frequent travel.
  • Changing clinic locations and environments.
  • The opportunity to see and experience communities across Wyoming while building valuable clinical experience.

Who Will Thrive in This Role?

This position requires someone who is confident, resilient, highly organized, and able to work independently.

You’ll do well here if you:

  • Stay calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
  • Can manage multiple priorities without losing attention to detail.
  • Are comfortable working closely with a strong, demanding provider.
  • Take initiative rather than waiting to be told what needs to happen next.
  • Can anticipate what the provider needs and stay one step ahead.
  • Are exceptionally detail-oriented when it comes to charting and documentation.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally.
  • Adapt easily when schedules, locations, or priorities change.
  • Are comfortable spending a significant amount of time traveling.
  • Take pride in being the person the provider can rely on to keep the clinical and documentation side of the day running smoothly.

What Makes This Role Different?

You’re not just supporting the provider—you’re their right hand.

You’ll work closely with the provider every day, gaining an in-depth understanding of GI procedures, workflow, documentation, and patient care.

You’ll also have the opportunity to develop specialized GI knowledge that can be difficult to gain in a traditional Medical Assistant position.

And yes—you’ll see a lot of Wyoming along the way.

Come be the person behind the scenes who keeps the entire operation moving.
