The opportunity
Our Government and Infrastructure-Financial Accounting Advisory Services team is growing exponentially, and as a senior, youll play a key role in that growth. Working across all Federal Government and Infrastructure service lines and interacting with our clients, youll develop your career by communicating and providing expertise around data integrity that can provide improved insight within the accounting, finance, governance, and regulatory space. Its all about understanding the business processes and data flow to provide a truly exceptional experience for our clients.
Your key responsibilities
The nature of this role means that you will be recognized as a primary day-to-day contact for our clients. That means youll need to understand how our clients data integrity and quality allow for more reliable reporting. Youll also develop your knowledge by learning about current issues, profession, and business developments relevant to the clients industry, so well look to you to build relationships and expertise with team members.
Skills and attributes for success
- Consulting with clients on data integrity, and improving data quality
- Engaging clients and providing authoritative advice and professionalism throughout transactions
- Constantly developing your understanding of current market trends and processes and sharing your knowledge to develop junior colleagues
- Understanding our clients unique ambitions and needs and referring them to colleagues in other teams and areas to broaden our business relationships where possible
To qualify for the role you must have
- A bachelors degree in accounting, finance or business discipline, supported by 4-6 years of progressive post baccalaureate work experience with Federal US GAAP
- Pursing a CPA certification
- Experience with any of the following: preparation or auditing of Federal financial statements, operations research, advanced data analytics knowledge, exploratory data mining and data visualization
- Strong technical writing skills and
- A deep understanding of the objectives of Federal financial management, as well as commonly used terminology, processes and tools
- A proven record of excellence when managing, mentoring and improving a team of high-performing colleagues
- The confidence to assess risk and provide well thought out solutions
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a secret clearance or higher
- Due to the nature of our work in the Government and Infrastructure, work may be required to be completed at client, EY and/or contractor sites. Our goal is to assign professionals to projects within a commutable distance of their work location office. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs. Candidates should be willing to travel on average 25% to 30% or more in a hybrid environment.
Ideally youll also have
- US CPA licensure in your work state
- CGFM and/or CDFM

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you'll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job is:
- New York City, Boston, and Washington DC Metro Areas, Washington State, and Southern California offices - $109,000 to $163,400
Bay Area California offices - $113,500 to $170,200
All other offices locations in the US, including Sacramento - $90,800 to $149,800
Individual salaries within these ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
Under our flexible vacation policy, you'll decide how much vacation time you need based on your own personal circumstances. You'll also be granted time off for designated EY Paid Holidays, Winter/Summer breaks, Personal/Family Care, and other leaves of absence when needed to support your physical, financial, and emotional well-being.
